Over 17.4 Crore Voters to Participate
The Election Commission stated that around 17.4 crore voters are expected to participate in the Election Dates 2026 across these states and the Union Territory.
CEC Gyanesh Kumar highlighted the scale of the elections, noting that the number of voters is comparable to the population of several major countries combined. He also assured that the commission will ensure free, fair, and transparent elections.
The EC has also invited election officials from more than 20 countries to observe the process.
Political Battle Intensifies in Key States
The upcoming elections are likely to witness intense political contests:

Kerala is likely to see a direct battle between the LDF and the UDF, with the BJP attempting to expand its presence.
Assam
In Assam, the BJP will face strong competition from the Congress and regional parties.
Puducherry
The Union Territory may witness a close contest between the Congress-DMK alliance and the AINRC-BJP alliance.
Massive Security Arrangements Planned
To ensure smooth polling during Election Dates 2026, the Election Commission is deploying a large number of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) along with state police.
Observers have been appointed in all poll-bound regions to monitor the electoral process and ensure strict adherence to election guidelines.
